The party room included streamers, lights, polka dot garland, a car track, gifts and glow stick lanterns.

This year, we had a "play date" instead of a party. It was really cute...a neighbor stopped by to bring Lexie a gift. At first, I thought he was overwhelmed by all of the pink decor and girlyness. Then, at the end of the night, when given a choice of lollipop colors, he chose pink! 

Girl Power activate....

I made a playlist of fun songs that Lexie loves, 

so the Divas N Dude had a dance party in the middle of the living room. 

Glow in the dark dancing... 

What a trip! It was fun to make "air" designs with the glow sticks, and to use them as drumsticks and play them like a guitar and use them as earrings and....

  (and after everyone was gone)...make a glow in the dark bath. I am pretty sure there were more giggles than soap. All in all, Lexie had a great celebration!

Little Lexie Loo turns 6

To know and appreciate Lexie, you must first, paint her nails, give her lipgloss and compliment her earrings. haha~

She is totally my girlie girl. She loves anything that has to do with glamour. Therefore it was only fitting that she had her birthday party at a spa/salon for kids. The girls got their hair done and sprayed with glitter, their nails painted, they played dress up and danced to fun KIDZ BOP musical stylings. Afterwards, we went for ice cream. Lexie had a great party and enjoyed her glamorous day!

On Broadway.....

Lexie has been in an acting, singing and dancing class for a year, called "Broadway". The class performed to the classic song "We Go Together", from the movie Grease. It was super cute. Lexie was a little shy when the curtains opened and she had to say her first line, but then, she warmed up. Lexie was on the mark for the entire dance portion of their production. She is very talented at remembering the choreography and is extremely confident in performing the dance. Grace (photographed above with Lexie, in green), on the other hand, was a total ham. She played her role perfectly! Lexie and Grace have been buddies for a few years and they plan to continue their career in Broadway....(I feel like I am writing for the recital program).

As a parent, it feels great to see your child blossom and grow. This year, I watched Lexie advance in many ways. She completed Kindergarten as an advanced reader, she gained confidence in acting and singing on stage, she is becoming more independent in a lot of ways. It is both impressive... and pulls at my heart, my baby girl is growing up!

Way to go, Lexie and Grace. You girls were SUPER stars!

Trip to the Museum

I went on a field trip with Lexie's class to the Museum. Above: Lexie is showing off her shyness (yeah, right). Below: A REAL Mummy. I was thinking it would be white gauze, simulated, NOPE! A real creepy old rotten gauze wrapped skeleton. Lexie thought it was so cool....she is grinning with complete awe.
This summer we plan to go back for the dinosaur exhibit...
Until then, listen to your "Mummy", she knows best!

TwO wHeeL'n it......

With a little instruction and a helping hand (or four), one can accomplish many feats....

Funny how a little competition can create incentive....Lexie's friend, a 4 year old, got on her 2 wheeled bike and mastered it in an afternoon. Well, little miss 5 year old wasn't going to be shown up by her friend....Lexie is a quick learner, she was able to balance and take off on her two wheeled bike in a matter of minutes. She never got frustrated, she NEVER fell and she giggled the entire time.

Lexie even had her own cheer-leading squad. Bella was a very good big sister, cheering Lexie on and giving her a few tips/instructions/step-by-step "how to's" along the way. Bella offered Lexie loads of positive encouragement and jumped up and down while clapping when T-bone let go and Lexie was on her own....

Hey, that is what Sisters do for each other, they love, encourage, hug, high five, laugh together, share toys, share secrets, know each other better than anyone else ever will, fight, make up....(hey, noboby is perfect), they are best friends without even knowing the treasure that lies in having a sister.

Bendaroo's

Lexie won the contest in our house for the BEST BENDAROOS creation. Inventive, eh?

Now, we are in the middle of a "Best Teeth Brushing" contest...The prizes vary from $5 cash to a trip to the toy store. But hey, our kids are brushing longer, scrubbing their tongues and ready for the FLASH LIGHT inspection once they are done. (The real prize is that the Dentist won't be making money off of us for any fillings).

Lexie graduates!

Lexie walks around telling people "I registered for Kindergarten"...Strangers, friends, people at her future school, it doesn't matter, she is "registered" to be a BIG GIRL.

I cannot believe that she has graduated from Preschool and is going to the big leagues next year. I have to tell you, I cried when I saw her in her cap and gown. I saw a glimpse into my future, watching her walk across the stage to get her High School diploma, heading off to college...and I couldn't control my tears. Life comes at you so fast sometimes, but this moment was in slow motion for me. I was able to truly relish in this moment....My baby girl is growing up.

Lexie, Way to go! You have grown up so much this year and as we watch you grow into this wonderful and amazingly smart girl, we cannot help but smile and find ourselves in a PROUD place. Congratulations Lexie!!

Best Shot Monday

Lexie and I were playing ball outside yesterday. She was giggling and having a great time, so I captured a few shots of her...this one was my best shot. My BABY girl is really growing up....

A Princess goes to the ball.........kind of......

Once upon a time, there lived a Sassy Princess, named Lexie.
She and all of her royal court fancied the local hang out for 4 year old Princesses where they painted their nails, danced to HSM tunes and wrapped themselves in the finest collection of garments and glorious accessories there ever was....



They played and had fun....and lived Happily Ever After....until there was a slight disagreement over the glasses, the nail salon lady had vanished and there were royal fits of crying because the check out line was too long.....then, the chariot wasn't playing the DVD fast enough on the way home.....
But then, the Princess fell fast asleep in the car, and the Queen lived happily ever after-noon. WHEW!

Rodeo Cowgirl

After all, we live in Texas, we have RODEO days at school, don't ya know....Kind of like Louisiana has Mardi Gras days, New York has snow days, we have R O D E O days.
Anyhow, Lexie got to ride a "real horse" (yep, she did, twice) and Cowboy Jeff did some tricks for 'em kids at school...and the teachers made them a real cowboy breakfast...All in all, she had a blast.
Her hair was in super cute french braids, but she insisted on the pink hat, and NO CoWbOy boots, brown mary jane's instead.....One thing is for sure, she certainly has a style (mind) of her own!

Best Shot Monday

On a See-Saw, I got this shot of Lexie and I love it. She was being a trooper, she had a low grade fever and her eyes were dilated. These are her "Stevie Wonder" frames....


Lexie had an allergic reaction to the dye and her pupils stayed dilated for 36 hours! Poor baby....and yes, the result of her eye exam was a prescription for glasses. I will post pics of her sporting her new frames soon....They are sooooo cute!!! (hint: Princess)

Happy Birthday Lexie

Today is Lexie's 4th Birthday.
I went into labor in a swimming pool, which scared the bottoms off of a lady who was 7 months pregnant, sitting in the pool. She was so worried that I was going to give birth IN THE POOL. I assured her, I was not, under any circumstance, having my baby without an epidural!
15 hours later, Lexie graced us with her tiny little body and her bright blue eyes. She weighed 5 pounds 15 oz. She has more than made up for her itty bitty birth size. She is wearing a size 11 1/2 shoe, size 5 in dresses and sassier than ever. Yep, she is a bigg-un! (that is TEXAN for 98th percentile in her age group).
This morning, the birthday Princess got to open her gifts from us. She was a little bummed that her big sis wasn't here to enjoy all the makeup and hair products that she got. (because, really, when you are 4, it is very important to have your own stash of beauty products) It didn't take her long to have blue nails, pink hair and way way too much glitter on her eyes. Lexie loves lip gloss, so, you know it, she put on about 21 layers of that waxy kid gloss. I think she will have permanent dyed frosty pink lips by the time her 10th birthday rolls around.
Anyhow, here is a picture of Lexie this morning, pink hair and all.

Poison...P..P...P....Poison

While on our road trip, actually, only a few miles into it, we had a mishap with Miss-chevious Lexie.
She opened her travel bag of activities and goodies and asked if she could eat her candy in her bag. I said "You can eat anything in your bag"...(I put one lollipop, a fruit snack and some juicy fruit in their travel bags)...Lexie, said, "EWWWW, here Mom, this candy is for the cat"....I knew exactly what she was talking about, Silica Gel. I got on my cell phone, called information and got connected to Poison Control.

Luckily, it is not poisonous. It is, however, a choking hazard, and Lexie was eating her lollipop and drinking all of my water, so I knew she wasn't choking. Nice way to start off a 6 hour road trip, eh?
