Young Chefs Academy

This week Bella and Lexie got to attend a class at the Young Chefs Academy.
They made cookies out of KiX cereal, peanut butter and mini kissables. In addition, they made sausage, bread and cheese Kabobs. What is it about food on a stick that appeals to children so much? My girls ate all of their kabobs before they touched their cookies. I suppose I need to serve lima beans and
collard greens on a stick, maybe that will work.....yea, probably not.

If you have never had the pleasure of attending one of their classes, I would recommend it. They cook, they sing, they read a book, they learn the importance of timing, measuring and washing your hands! It is a wonderful culinary experience.

My girls often sit on the kitchen counter to assist me in creating whatever meal, snack or dish I am preparing. They even have their own "pink" (of course) cooking equipment in the breakfast nook of our kitchen. They are always taking our orders for meals, so the Little Chefs Academy seemed a rightful fit for them. Here are a few shots of their adventure.
