Hello everyone. I have not been so diligent in my blogging as "life" has interfered some...
We got back from San Antonio on Wednesday, then started preparing for our garage sale on Saturday. Tim maned the sale while I took the girls and met Dad and Mrs. Pat at Magic Kingdom in Orlando. Our annual passes expire on the 29th, so I felt like I needed to take the girls to the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH, and I am happy that I did. They got to see Jasmine and Peter Pan, 2 characters we haven't encountered in our previous 8 or 9 visits to the parks...I am definitely going to miss Disney. It truly is a magical place. Although, Mrs. Pat made an interesting observation....she noticed very few people were smiling. I suggested that it was the humidity and the heat that forced the snarls upon these happy folks faces. I had sweat marks in the crease of my pants where my legs meet my butt....which is really funny, since I don't really HAVE much of a butt.
Being in Disney reminded me of the things I will miss about living in Florida. I will miss my friends, the girls Preschool, the weather, Disney and the beach. So, with that being said, we have plans with friends to go to the beach next week, the girls will be in Preschool until the end of October and the weather, well, it is Paradise....and that, I am really going to miss. However, I am looking forward to actually wearing my jeans and long sleeves in the winter. We get about 12-20 days of chilly weather here, so it is almost a waste to do any shopping for Fall/Winter clothes. Honestly, I don't even know why they have "seasonal" clothing here. Florida has only one season, flip flop, tank top, sunscreen season, PERIOD. No leaves change, no dead grass, no freeze, just paradise. Flat paradise.
I am excited that we have chosen to reside in Hill Country. I am also excited about changing brake pads (haha), waking up on Christmas morning to chilly weather and a cozy fireplace. Tim is SOOOO excited to have a brick house...he never liked stucco. I am looking forward to being within driving distance to friends and family. I am also very happy about the 10 pounds I am going to put on with all that great Mexican food in San Antonio. I hope it all goes to my butt, maybe then I would actually have one!
And I'm excited you will be in Texas too!! Although don't get too pumped for those "seasonal" clothes. San Antonio is south and in Houston we sometimes are still in flip flops and shorts for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about all that paradise talk. I can't stand this stinkin' hot weather. I do love it though from about November through May, sometimes June is okay. Although, blizzardy cold can be worse than blistering hot. I've been there too. I'm looking forward to our beach rendezvous.
ReplyDeleteYour future seems brighter than ours as possible Jersey Folk.
