It is HER day

My Mom is notorious for pulling pranks on April Fools Day. In our family, we say "it is HER day"....It is code for "warning, red head seeks to torment innocent people on April FOOLS day" (don't let her sweet smile and kind heart fool you, she is ruthless on this one day a year)

A little history, she told my brother and I that our dog died, when we were 8 and 5 years old, only, he didn't. She woke my brother up on a Saturday, when he was a Senior in HS (cardinal sin to wake a teenager on a weekend), to tell him he was late for his golf tournament, only, he didn't have one. She had our Aunt call us from Houston and say that our Mom was in the hospital...

So, in our family, the warning text messages get sent the night before, emails go out. What fun can you have today? Let's see if you can out-do the Queen of April Fools.

We love you Mom....just don't call us today, we ain't answerin'!

  2. I think one of my best April Fools jokes (only because it got people falsely excited) was claiming I was pregnant on my blog. That was fun. :)

  3. That is fun - my Jack is pranking his teacher today that we are moving back to TX and his last day is Friday...He was pouting that I was not eager to pull a prank on Daddy-O too...I informed him that Daddy-O already played the BIGGEST one of all on ME years ago - by asking me to marry him ON THIS VERY DAY...after dating him for over eight years...harhar - it was NOT funny - but he DID mean it - and you can BET after pouting at the "joke" I was QUICK to say, I mean SCREAM YES... :)

  4. Hi Charisse, Carrie here. I can't top your mom, she sounds brutal. But, I did get pulled over today by a nice policeman on motorcycle for expired tags (Bryan's fault, I don't handle "those" things). When he came back to give me the ticket, I screamed in pain "oh my God, my water just BROKE". The look on his face was worth the $76 ticket. All three boys and I shouted "April Fools!!" and he just laughed and laughed and said how good we had gotten him. You know, it was so much fun to be able to do that. Those chances don't come around often. I can see why your mom loves to do it. Talk to you later...
