Preschool CAMP-OUT

11:20 PM (Sunday) - on my way to the church.
11:30 - #24 in line.
12:58 AM - time to lay down and take a nap. I brought a heavy blanket and my pillow, along with magazines, dvd player and snacks. I wish I would have brought my scrapbooking supplies and coffee, next year I suppose...
Worth noting: I feel like a homeless person riding out the storm, waiting for the food line to form.
Several of us, about 10, are sleeping in the chapel. The rest are in the lobby, about 21 of them. Someone is snoring, someone farted, it woke me up from my surface sleep, OOOOH, could it have been me? Did I wake myself up?
4:40 AM - WOW, I actually fell asleep for real, that is exhaustion. I don't fall asleep without a bed and a sound machine, ever! Anyhow, I cannot feel my back or my legs for that matter and I don't figure this out until I stand up, in a dark church, with 9 sleeping people around me. 40 people are in the lobby and there are 67 of us waiting to sign our kids up for 3 days a week, 4 days a week, 5 days a week classes, did I mention PRESCHOOL classes?
5:30 AM- 87 people. 6:45 AM- 103 people. 7:15 AM- registration begins 1 hour and 45 minutes earlier than scheduled. I am a happy camper.
I heard someone say "I am #90 something. I have 2 children on a sinking ship and I have to decide who gets to live"....This is serious business here. You have to get to the church at 11:00 at night with your blankie and pillow so that both of your kids can get into PRESCHOOL, 3 days a week.
This school has an unprecedented reputation, which is why they have this annual camp out of Mom's and Dad's....sleepy, exhausted, achy, but worth it.
Lexie was #19 to get in her class out of 23 available spots. Bella was #4 out of 12 available spots.

  1. Oh my goodness! Looks like fun. I'm glad you got the girls both into school though!
